Please review the Membership Guidelines and schedule. Each rehearsal builds on the one before, so regular attendance is very important.
If you need to withdraw from attending rehearsals or singing in a concert, please notify us promptly.
Absences are limited to two for the fall semester and three for the spring semester, after which singers must speak with the Director directly about remaining in the group. We take this policy very seriously. Attendance at the rehearsals held during the last week before the concert are mandatory. All singers are expected to participate in the concert, except by prior arrangement.
Dues and music fees will vary each semester, depending on the size of the orchestra and the cost of scores. Dues are typically $100 per semester. The music fees typically range from $10 to $20.
Our rehearsals are held on Tuesdays, 7:30-9:30 PM at the Northampton Senior Center, 67 Conz Street in Northampton.
Preregistration is required for each semester. We are limited to a chorus of roughly 120 singers for concerts in Abbey Chapel at Mount Holyoke College, and 160 for the UMass Fine Arts Center, due to the available space on stage. The overall cap may be further broken down into sections at the Director’s discretion, for purposes of balance. In rare cases, we will put singers on a waiting list, but usually we can accommodate everyone.
Links to register for the Fall 2021 semester will be posted on this website a few weeks before the season begins. Please register ONLY if you’re certain you can make the commitment to attend rehearsals and the concert.
